Raw for October 18th opened with a recap of the confrontation between Edge, Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit from last week. During the first hour, a clock would occasionally appear, noting when the voting for Taboo Tuesday would begin.
Eric Bischoff, wearing karate garb, demanded that Eugene face him in the ring tonight, saying he didn't want to wait until tomorrow. Eugene came to the ring, and Bischoff said that Eugene has been an embarrassment to him his whole life, and after Taboo Tuesday, it would be Bischoff's chance to embarrass Eugene. Bischoff then said that he didn't really want to wrestle Eugene tonight, and brought out Gene Snitsky to fight him. The announcers revealed that Bischoff had banned Kane from the building tonight.
Gene Snitsky defeated Eugene in four minutes with a pumphandle slam. Snitsky went for a chair after the match to inflict more punishment, but William Regal ran out and started pounding Snitsky. Snitsky stopped him with a low blow and a chair shot, then left, while Bischoff went into the ring and gave the downed Eugene a cheap shot before leaving.
Edge, Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels had an in-ring debate (hosted by Todd Grisham) in the style of a Presidential debate. All three men talked about why they deserved the World Title match with Triple H. Edge said he deserved it because he has never gotten a title shot. Benoit said he deserved it because he has made Triple H and Shawn Michaels tap (Edge argued that Benoit never made him tap). Michaels then made jokes like saying he "had a plan" that he wouldn't tell anyone, and that Benoit and Edge were "Master Debaters". Michaels also pointed out that he has beaten Triple H before. Edge insisted that neither Michaels or Benoit could beat him. Edge ended up going after Michaels, who ducked, and Benoit gave Edge a German suplex. Michaels then went to superkick Edge, but Edge ducked, and Michaels superkicked Todd Grisham. Edge then left the ring, as Benoit and Michaels glared at him from the ring.
Stacy Keibler, Nidia & Victoria defeated Trish Stratus, Molly Holly & Gail Kim when Victoria hit the Widow's Peak on Gail Kim for the pin at the four minute mark.
Gene Snitsky was shown in the back talking on his cell phone. Lita confronted him, and slapped the phone out of his hand. Lita said "You killed my son" and started slapping him. Snitsky slammed Lita against a wall, and told her "It wasn't my fault", then said Kane would lose his match tomorrow "just like you lost your baby". Snitsky tossed Lita to the ground and walked off.
A recap of Randy Orton on Jimmy Kimmel was shown, focusing on the jokes that were made about Ric Flair being old.
Backstage, Ric Flair looked annoyed over the segment, and Triple H gave him a pep talk, telling him he is great. Flair gave a "whoo" before leaving the room, and said he has "never been better".
Ric Flair & Batista defeated Chris Jericho & Randy Orton in sixteen minutes. Towards the end of the match, Orton went for the RKO on Flair, but he shoved Orton into the referee, then downed him with a low blow. Orton rolled out of the ring and fell to the floor. Jericho grabbed Flair in the Walls Of Jericho, but Batista ran in and clotheslined Jericho, practically knocking him out. Flair put Jericho in the figure four, and while Jericho managed to get his shoulder off the mat to avoid being pinned, he eventually tapped out.
A video package on last week's European tour was shown.
Vince McMahon came to the ring to talk about the Taboo Tuesday concept, when he was interrupted by Christian. Christian apologized to Vince McMahon, then started kissing up to the fans, thanking them for their support over the years. Christian then said that he wanted Vince McMahon's "endorsement" for the Intercontinental Title match tomorrow. Yoshihiro Tajiri came out and accused Christian of lying, and said McMahon should support him, because he "loves Mr. McMahon". Tajiri started hugging Vince, then Christian said he loves Vince more, and started hugging him as well. Jonathan Coachman then came out, and pleaded his case for Vince's endorsement. Vince started to explain how he hates being interrupted, but Christian interrupted him again. Rhyno then stormed the ring. Vince assumed he wanted an endorsement as well. Rhyno said he didn't want an endorsement, he wanted to Gore Coach and Christian. Vince tried to speak again, and Hurricane came to the ring. He gave his pitch, then Shelton Benjamin came out. Shelton didn't get a chance to speak, as Vince called out a referee and said that there would be a six-man elimination match right now. He said the winner would get his endorsement. Vince then joined the announcers to watch the match.
The elimination match saw two men in the ring, while the other four each stood in a corner, waiting to be tagged in. Tajiri eliminated Hurricane with a kick to the head at the two minute mark after Christian clipped him from the outside. Rhyno eliminated Tajiri during the break (which wasn't shown), and eliminated Coachman with a Gore at the six minute mark. Christian immediately grabbed Rhyno in the Unprettier to pin him, leaving Christian and Benjamin as the last two men in the match. Benjamin pinned Christian with a T-Bone Exploder suplex for the win at the ten minute mark.
Vince McMahon then gave Benjamin his "endorsement" for the match with Chris Jericho tomorrow night. Shelton got on the mic, and said if Vince hadn't cut him off earlier, he would have told him that he doesn't want Vince's endorsement. Benjamin said Vince McMahon was only worth one vote, his own. Benjamin said he was in the ring to impress all the fans that will be voting, and that he proved he deserved the match by going through four wrestlers and Coach in one match.
A "final word" segment was done with Carmella and Christy Hemme. Carmella claimed she would not get in the ring in her bra and panties, and told the fans to vote for the Aerobic Challenge. Christy said she would do anything to please the fans, and to prove her point, she kissed ring announcer Lilian Garcia. Carmella then hit Christy from behind before leaving the ring.
Triple H joined the announcers for the main event.
Edge defeated Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels in a Three Way match. Towards the end, Benoit put Edge in a Sharpshooter, but Michaels gave him a superkick. Edge grabbed Michaels by the legs from the outside and pulled him groin first into the ringpost. Edge went for the spear, and Benoit caught him and went for the Crossface. Edge and Benoit were then trading reversals on a rollup and Edge hooked Benoit's tights and the ropes to get the pin at the fifteen minute mark. The show ended with Triple H standing on the stage holding up the World Title belt as Edge, Benoit and Michaels stared at him and the final pitch for the PPV was made.
