This Week in Wrestling: 10/17 - 10/23
   By: RingInsider.com on October 24, 2004
For those who are curious, here are the full results (according to WWE.com) of the Intercontinental Title Match poll for last night's Taboo Tuesday Pay-per-view. I've rearranged them in descending order. It is interesting to note (if the results are legit) that Coach really did beat out Christian and Rhyno, while Maven did better than a lot of wrestlers who get more TV time than him, including William Regal, Hurricane and Tajiri. I did hear from one reader who said that Maven's website sent out an email to their mailing list with instructions on how to clear out cookies and re-vote (although they did not endorse doing so, they did mention how to do it), so that might be a possible explanation.

Shelton Benjamin 37.48 %
Batista 20.11 %
Coach 7.01 %
Christian 6.69 %
Rhyno 5.77 %
Maven 4.23 %
William Regal 3.81 %
The Hurricane 3.77 %
Tyson Tomko 2.49 %
Tajiri 2.36 %
Steven Richards 2.24 %
Val Venis 1.69 %
Rosey 1.10 %
Chuck Palumbo 0.68 %
Rodney Mack 0.58 %

ChicagoBusiness.com reported that UBC Radio is in negotiations with Mick Foley to host a syndicated radio show, with plans for the show to air in 50 markets. If anyone could hold a show together, it would be Foley. Foley's newest children's book "Tales from Wrescal Lane" was released this past Tuesday.

Edge's autobiography will be released this November and is available for pre-order by clicking on the cover above. Other upcoming WWE releases scheduled include a trade paperback titled "WWE Confidential" which will be released in April 2005, William Regal's biography "Walking a Golden Mile" which is scheduled for a March 2005 release, Triple H's bodybuilding book "Making the Game" which will be released in hardcover format this December, "Are We There Yet?" which will be a collection of wrestler road stories this February, and a planned biography for Eddie Guerrero.

Matt Stock sent this one. ... If you go onto the Smackdown TV Report page on the WWE website, and click "Photos", you'll notice that there are pictures of The Undertaker attacking both Heidenreich and Paul Heyman, despite this never making it to TV. Good to know they watch over the little details in their website.

WWE is releasing another collection of theme songs on CD in November. The John Cena rap CD is scheduled for a January 2005 release.

Michael J. Bruce sent the following....According to the latest issue of The Trademark Insider, WWE is ranked 7th among companies with the most trademarks filed in the second quarter of 2004, with a total of 153 trademarks. The companies that precede WWE in the rankings are the following:

1 Mattel, Inc. 252
2 Walt Disney Company 239
3 Bristol-Myers Squibb Company 218
4 Viacom International Inc. 205
5 Hasbro, Inc. 167
6 Time Warner 162

Adam Lebow sent the following report on Batista's TSN appearance....Batista is tired from the long trip but finds it worth it. He says that the fans that only get to see WWE once or twice a year overseas are just wild. They ask about when fans boo the wrong guys, noting Edge at the last PPV in Toronto and Batista says its hard because Edge is the hometown guy but he was getting some cheers, so he finds it very weird. The talk moves to Randy Orton and Batista says he always knew that Orton would eventually win the Title, he was just waiting for it. Batista says hanging out with Ric Flair is always interesting and the Flair book is the PG version of the stories he gets to tell. Batista says he has learned a lot from Flair and HHH, nothing that HHH is right now the total package. In regards to Batista finally going on his own, he says he is content with the situation he is in but will take what he can get. From things he has picked up from Flair and Hunter, in the ring he needs to take the opportunity when it presents itself (from Flair) and aggressiveness (from HHH).

Triple H will be guest hosting the Mr. Olympia bodybuilding competition on 10/29-10/30 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As noted in last night's spoilers from the Smackdown taping in Rockford, Illinois, OVW developmental wrestlers Mike Mondo and Aaron Aguilera are working the TV shots this week, so WWE can have a look at them. Next Page >>
